Compassionate Online Therapy Across the UK – Person-Centred & EMDR

EMDR Therapy

I also offer EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing) Therapy. This is more structured and is helpful if you have specific memories or experiences that you find distressing or are impacting you in some way.

EMDR is an especially powerful tool for ‘single-incident’ trauma, where there are single, isolated traumas you have been through which you find distressing or are still impacting you. For single incident traumas, this can quite a short-term therapy where we focus solely on the incident you have been through.

It is also useful for more complex trauma though, as well as phobias, worrying thoughts about the future, and even depression and anxiety. It has a reputation for working very effectively with PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) but can work effectively for a range of things.

I offer EMDR in a very person-centred way also, so the relationship and your sense of safety and comfort in the relationship is central to how I work. You also have control over what you want to focus on and how would like to navigate things.

While the standard person-centred talking therapy is quite open-ended and without any particular structure other than what you want to bring to it, EMDR offers a more structured approach towards therapy while also being person-centred.

Here is a short video explaining how it can work:

An EMDR session usually lasts 90 minutes and my standard rate for this is £90 per session. I do offer a sliding scale though, from £70 and £110.

I offer lower than my standard rate for anyone who may struggle with the cost.

Equally, if you can afford more than these prices and would like to ‘pay it forward’, let me know and paying something extra would enable me to offer a lower price to an extra person who can’t afford my normal rate.

(I intend on this section having much more information in the future, but in the meantime feel free to get in touch if you would like a conversation with me about EMDR therapy)
